What a surprise. Glad that I bought back my old pal 2 weeks ago. The current price at 0.135 is a bargain with respect to its balance sheet. The owners are also willing to share the cash with minor shareholders via dividends. If they manage to sell the company (last round not successful), even more value would be unlocked!

Hey the current price spike up to 0.154! just to confirm the 4 to 1 consolidation hasn't kicked in yet right. This has already presented 23% of my gain since I bought it 2 months ago

The market capitalisation is about $51.7m based on current price of 15.4c per share. With a cash hoard of $30m (equivalent to 8.9c per share) and no debt, what would you do as the boss of the company? I would pay a special dividend of at least 5c as the company is still making money to pay yearly dividend. I think it is fair and safe to keep the stock longer.

I've seen many companies in Asia disregard the interest of minority shareholders. But in this case, I am highly comforted by the fact that many of the top 20 shareholders are filled with the family members of the "Tan" family.

While this is no guarantee, my own feeling is that this will ensure all shareholders get to share in all the future profits from PNE's divestment and operations.

I find the share price movement yesterday interesting. Is it just window-dressing or something brewing or some over optimistic investor making bold move?

If it is window-dressing, I find it not possible to be the fund manager. Based on the 2014 full year report, the 20th top 20 shareholders has only 1,649,500 shares equivalent to $256k which is too small for fund manager. The rest of the 19 shareholders are individual investors or the Tan family.

Could it then be for the share collateral for loan? I am very concerned if this is the case for the substantial shareholders. Or am I missing out something else?

Yes, I agree with you.. indeed interesting price movement yesterday. Look at today, its back to ghost town again.
One thing that I notice, the bid price has increased too (whoever the buyer is... is willing to pay more to direct sellers).
Cant think of any juicy news from them except the disposal of balance PNE PCB shares (not really juicy anymore though).

If I am not wrong, the management is looking into disposing the printing material business. And with such a huge cash hoard of $30m relative to the size of the company, I am expecting special dividend.

I thought the Full Year result for 2015 was consistent but just 2 issues which I am confused.

Firstly, there is a loss of $2.3m for discontinued operations which I do not understand. I thought selling both the loss making businesses of PNE PCB and printing material business would improve the balance sheet?

Secondly, "Currency translation deficit increased $2.3m due mainly to deficits arising from the translation of the Group’s operations in Malaysia, because of the severe weakening of the Malaysian Ringgit." I thought weakening of Ringgit would be good for PNE as that will be the production cost?

Would appreciate if someone could enlighten me. Thanks in advance.
