Nothing much to do so I decided to pen down some thoughts.

I choose Arles as my home base in Provence, western France.

During the day time, I'm out of Arles, traveling always.

Night time, I'm back in Arles.

Arles has a special charm especially after night fall. The romantic streets lights and especially the clear sky mesmerised me.

Love a song called starry starry night:

How many people is like Vincent?
Their works are not appreciated when they are alive.
Only when they are long gone then they are missed?

Just a reminder to hold the hands of our love one tightly....
Heart

Enjoy...

Thanks for posting this song.
One of my fav song too.

Ever watch a play on Van Gogh and realised how depressing his life was and how people ostracize him due to his sexual orientation.
He was alleged to be a homosexual, highly look down in his time.
I believe ultimately, this was last nail that drove him to suicide.

Have you seen the "Starry Starry Night" and "Sunflower" original paintings before?
Believe they are both located in NY Museum of Art. At least wiki said that.

I think Starry Night portray his awe and innocence and perhaps a tint of loneliness when he painted that.

Arthur, my friend.
I had not seen both original paintings before.

There are simply too many things to see/do, so NY has to wait.

I just noticed your signature: "Assets allocation is superior to equities selection"

I thought 2007 crisis shows that all asset class crash at the same time?
rarely but it did happened.

Arr.. one's lifespan is limited indeed.
So do I wish to travel around the world, to see the Mona Lisa masterpiece, Egypt's pyramids, China's terracotta warriors, etc etc.
But one's funding is limited. LOL. Beside my time doesn't allow either.

Not all assets crash in 2007, the US treasury bond prices actually rose as its yield fell. Buying their respective ETFs gave me a respectable profit.

It had been always the flow of funds to equities in times of prosperity, and reverse flow to bonds in recessionary times.
However, that's before the QEs came in.

For now, my opinion is everything is highly leveraged and manipulated. Thus the essence of "Value Investing" is ever more important in our current times.

Would love to go Paris one of these days, but that will have to wait till my busy work schedule is finished. Do post more nice photos of your travels. They are indeed really lovely.

Cheers.

Arthur,
If you're going to Arles, you'll enjoy Pont-du-Gard.

This aqueduct was build to carry water from a spring 50km away into the city of Nimes.
It has a gradient of of 2.5cm and supply 400,000 m3 of water per day.
Amazing roman technology constructed in the 1st century.

Today, it's a UNESCO's World Heritage site.
Swimming in the river is allowed, and you can also walk on the structure itself too.

The other famous Aqueduct is in Spain and it has completely different atmosphere... carnival spirit.

If you're planning to go Paris, do bring along your love one. don't go alone. REMEMBER!

If you're in Paris and the weather is good, after a early dinner, join a evening/night cruise along River Seine.
