That's absolutely wasteful to both resources and on my own time which could be used to do real work. Multiply that wastage by hundreds or more trips made by all cars for that CP in one day. Multiply that by 365 days. Multiply that by the number of such CPs in Singapore. That's plenty of wasteful GDP. But it counts.

You waste time and fuel but...
Postmen save time by delivering all mails in one block rather than three or four blocks.
Rubbish collector collect from one single main chute rather than multiple rubbish chutes.
Residents do not need to clear bird shits since the cars are sheltered.
MSCP that is linked with HDB blocks are convenient during raining days which is rather common in Singapore.
No leaking ceilings...I think 90% of the old units from 70s have this problem.

All in all... If all factors are considered with the same no. of people being relocated from a less dense area to denser area, I do not think the total amount of time and energy saved will be significantly different.

But, whether the people are happier with a denser block or estate is another issue.

Yes, planners all over the world are looking at more compact cities than sprawling ones. Makes more economic sense. But of cos it has to be carefully planned to maintain quality of life.

2030 is a long way to go. From present population to 6.9M then is around 1% growth per year. If the Govt is unable to plan with such a low growth, then it must be highly incompetent. Just see what going to be done in the next few years to bring up the infrastructures.

BTW, I am betting on construction stocks due to this. Big Grin

Now many top guns came out to " explain " this 6.9m population target Huh

hospitals only have a few hundred bed. If there is a pandemic nobody will be allows to go near a hospital.

So taking experience from the SARS, in the event of pandemic nobody will come forward even if they are affected because all scared to Sh** so all will go to guardian pharmacy or watson buy this that buy dettol and try to self medicate and hope for the best.

To go near a hospital or clinic during a pandemic means you are own up that you have a possible problem nobody will do that.

Instead they will build an area outside of hospital for screening all visitors will be checked and any found to have symptoms of whatever they looking for that's causing the pandemic will be isolated and quarantine.

Nobody in sg will go hospital in a pandemic lah Big Grin
