Bought a package from amazon which have already package for delivery and weighs 2.7kg but vpost repackage it to 3.8kg and also charges me repacking fees. Another item, a soft toy was also repackage and fees charged. Why the hell need to repackage a small soft toy? $4 shipping fee for a 0.6kg package becomes $11 due to the repacking fee. This is the last time I am going to use vpost and unlikely to be a singpost investor.

yes. expensive and opaque. volumetric weight is used to calculated.

ezbuy (65daigou) is the closest competitor. started by PRCs working in semi-con indsutry.

I think vpost lost its first mover adv already. Because too slow to cut prices.
last mile of getting popstation and post offices not as strong as perceived.

65daigou customers can get from many collection points and warehouses. and a lot of them do.

What about uskoop? Has anyone tried their service before? Good?

SingPost had been held up in the past as a business with a natural economic moat (e.g being the sole licensee under the Postal Act).

I am wondering how much that's worth. While they might have the only right to do so, this business is not getting better while parcel delivery is the one growing due to online shopping. In that space however, they have competitors like Yamato.

PBOC to Study Alibaba’s Shadow-Banking Activities, Zhou Says

China's new push into regulation of their banking sector is gaining traction. If it is found that any shady business going on and on a big scale, we could see money trouble for Alibaba and maybe Alibaba might have to sell their stake in Singpost.

Time to get out if you are vested in singpost??
