Time’s running out to grab a Swiss bargain

January 20th, 2015 14:14:07 GMT by Ryan Littlestone

Swatch have announced that they will be raising prices by 5-10% on some brands after the SNB move. If you like the following then get in quick before the hikes as Breguet, Blancpain, Omega and Longines will be going up.

Swatch CEO says that the group is more reluctant to raise prices on Swatch and Tissot and still sees an unspecified negative effect on sales.

We can expect more stories like this so if you’re a lover of Toblerone, Swiss cheese and cuckoo clocks then stock up quick.

Patek Philippe may raise prices of its timepieces by 4 percent to 5 percent at the start of next month...

honestly I think the overall impact on HG will be low because their watches are catered to the very high end users... for this ultra HNWI, 4-5% may not sound a lot and they may see this as a long term investment ("You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation" kind of thing)....

but for HK retailers like Hengdeli, Emperor, and Oriental Watch this will be a big hit as they also carry some mid range watches...

since SNB decision share price of those HK retailers have gone down while the opposite is true for HG...

Last done $0.755 (11:24:47am), up $0.04, or 5.6% so far this morning. It looks like Mr Market is getting to understand the very high-quality aspects of THG's business, and is increasingly willing to attach an extra value for THG's expanding earnings base and future earnings!
