There is no time for me to think or investigate too much when the "opportunity" presented itself. This is the time of he who hesitates is lost (i.e. if it is a genuine offeror's opportunity and not bucket-shop operation). But how can i be sure?
Speculation or value investing?
The answer should be depended on who you ask?

I am guessing the answer is presented in your 'nickname'. Does it fit your temperament? Is your temperament rojak, confused, specuvesting, bold and act based on gut sense, cautious...? (the list goes on)

He who knows and stick to what he is about, while giving up what others pursue but is not true to his nature, is no fool.
Yes opportunity seldom knocks twice. Every time there is an offer in the Market to delist, i think it's an opportunity for the "Brave Ones", if the offer is genuine. To some people it is a speculative opportunity not so much value investing. To people who have been following HPL, then it's may not be speculating.
So who have speculated on CMA offer too?
The Brave Ones?
WB:-

1) Rule # 1, do not lose money.
2) Rule # 2, refer to # 1.
3) Not until you can manage your emotions, you can manage your money.

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

NB:-
My signature is meant for psychoing myself. No offence to anyone. i am trying not to lose money unnecessary anymore.

I think the only valuable advice provided by the IFA is a RNAV of $5.02 or $5.24 (gross development value valuation basis).

U decide what you want to do. IFA cover all angle liao just that they never take into account individual circumstances.

Shareholders who wish to take this opportunity to realise their investments in the
Company in the near term and/or who are not prepared to accept the uncertainties
facing the future prospects of the Company may wish to ACCEPT the Offer or sell their
HPL Shares in the open market if they can obtain a price higher than the Revised Offer
Price (after deducting all related expenses). Shareholders should be aware that as at
the Latest Practicable Date, the Offer remains subject to the Acceptance Condition and
there is currently no certainty that the Offer will become unconditional.
Shareholders who are confi dent and optimistic about their equity investments in the
Company and the prospects of the Company under the control of the Offeror may wish
to REJECT the Offer. Shareholders who do not wish to accept the Offer should be
aware that they will be subject to the general risks associated with share investments,
including but not limited to fl uctuations in the price and trading liquidity of the HPL
Shares. Shareholders should also note that in the 3-year period leading up to the Offer
Announcement Date, the HPL Shares have not traded at or above the Revised Offer
Price and it is likely that the market price of the HPL Shares as at the Latest Practicable
Date is highly infl uenced by the Offer and may not be maintained at such levels after the
close of the Offer.
