Good point from ngsengkia. In order to verify your hypothesis, you will just need to check whether AMAT is selling stakes their other investor companies.
I wonder why the selling has not triggered a query from SGX?
Anyway I have another theory which is IPT (interested party transactions), whereby AMAT plans to sell out UMS, new merged co with TEL acquire UMS fully at a lower price then. It will just need to give upside of 20% at current share price compared to when at 90c/70c.
One red flag is for AMAT to sell, why do they need to sell publicly and not share transfer to some other investors? Perhaps no takers?
Not vested but things look interesting now. I disagree with Zelphon. Technology transfer is really difficult especially in terms of reliability or quality control.
