another desire triggered? Wink

Quote:Latest Pads, Tab 2 7.0 & Tab 2 10.1 still uses Dual Core. Tab 2 7.0 is a step backward from Tab Plus 7.0 as it's meant to be their entry level Pad (low cost). I suppose you meant waiting for S3 stocks for Quad Core?

No, S3 stocks all using quad core, being the very latest model. I meant waiting for Tab products to incorporate newer hardware (eg. quad core), matter of time, unless going for entry level products.

Quote:If it's just about Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), can you do an upgrade to your existing phones. Saw this in US site. Other sites also mentioned upgrades for other non-Samsung Android models like HTC.

Yes, older products can be upgraded online.

Thx for all the info! Cool

The only desire triggered is perhaps to look into Samsung stocks (seeing how Apple stocks had gone up with their successes in iPhones and iPads), but then again, I'm just plain too lazy / fearful of other non-Singapore markets.

Till now, although I'd love to tinker with the latest technological gadgets, I still can't convince myself to pay such premiums to be amongst the early adopters. Not especially for a smartphone which I'll likely change every 2 years or so when my contract is up for renewal. I may sound like a case of 'sour grapes' but another reason is that with my advancing age and the inevitability(?) of worsening long-sightedness, I doubt I'd be able to use a 4.8" screen device with quad-core to it's optimised usage. Unless... to play one of those super graphics, fast action RPG?? or to implement very complex algorithms that requires the best processing speeds to calculate the *ahem* 'switching' prices to 10 decimal places?? Big Grin

The only reason I happen to own an iPhone was, my h/p contract was up for renewal and they were clearing the iPhone 3 models (just launched iPhone 4 or 4S, can't remember even tho' less than a year ago) and it was going for a good price (I got the last one in stock for that SingTel shop and don't even have a choice of colour!). I'm flexible (skinflint) enough to have gone for either Android or Win7 smartphones if there's any value to be had.

I may get one of their low cost entry level pad (Tab 2 7.0) when they launch in Singapore (or I happen to see it on overseas hols) to supplement my other iPads tho'... Hee...

Value-for-money is always top priority when i shop, esp for h/p. I am using Samsung Galaxy Ace 5830 now, a budget buy about 1 year ago.

It is very tempting to get a iphone/ipad when it is arrived, but manage to exercise "self-control" (to be more precise, "wife-control" Big Grin). It end-up with a more entry-level samsung ace.

Chances are i am still go for value-for-money, an entry level samsung tab, instead of the up-to-date S3.Tongue

I am as skinflint and value-for-money as both of you, but once in a while, it's healthy to succumb to some luxuries, 'cos we can't take it all with us eventually..... Smile
