Perhaps Singapore should follow some other countries' level of transparencies where elected office bearers need to declare their assets and it's breakdown on a regular basis. Tongue

Very much like those in the audit line, they need to behave in a manner that clears any real or perceived doubts of their independence.

You must be joking - where can we find policy makers who are not vested (i.e. does not own properties) in Singapore properties?

Big difference whether you have only 1 live-in property vs 10-20 Investment Properties. I'm only using the 2 extremes as an example of how serious the vested interest may be. Not implying anything, just talking about transparencies. Rolleyes

Even our local newspapers have a so-called vested interest.

Every other page has ads from property companies featuring their beautiful (and very expensive) condos.... Tongue

OMG! A trained accountant who doesn't understand the ethical aspect of Perceived Independence / Transparency! Hee...

BTW, in case you are being serious, the last I heard, newspapers here have not been allowed to evolve to the stage where they're able to set / influence interest rate policies.. Tongue

Honestly, what is the significance of a drop of 0.1% in 1Q? That is about $1 psf for a condo at $1000 psf.

Read a commentary in today's TODAY newspaper.

The writer was not optimistic about further price corrections because agents have been reporting better sales and more interest in mass-market private properties.

So unless a drastic Govt measure comes along, looks like the sky's the limit again!

Nothing goes up forever except our age Big Grin

However, do not expect the price to go down to 2007 level.
In my view, people are richer (like it or not), population has increased and speculation are the main reasons for the increase.
First two factors won't go away...and frankly, none of us want them to go away......

MAS is not helping MND to control property price.

do you have a mandate that you must invest into property ?
I thought investors are free to invest in anything which gives the best return.

even the best among the worst, does not mean it is anywhere near a good investment.

lol.

please, be a grownup.

This was what you said and who is not growing up. Must I ask you to grow up ? lol.

If you think my comment is wrong, could you please reply to that topic? Don't be so petty to come to other topics to start something inappropriate.

No need , I have exposed you to other forumers here how unreasonable you are. Thanks to your response, you still have much to learn. Bye , take care.
