In fact, I first heard the term 'equity risk premium' from her. I have read all 4 volumes of her "show me the money" - probably too elementary for you guys!

Well, she writes pretty decently and has come up with some good stuff; but yeah generally her writing is more for the masses and laymen - in terms of financial education she does do quite a good job of it. But if you want to learn how to invest properly and with a strong framework I would still recommend a basic book on accouting and "The Intelligent Investor".

Equity Risk Premium is a standard finance term. There's a whole lot of other stuff in Finance which sounds really chim and cool but which has not much utility in real-life investing. A good example is "Beta".

Thanks Musicwhiz, I finished reading II long time ago. I have some knowledge of accounting, from education & from my non-stop reading of 'everything under the sun'. Reading is a cheap hobby, and an enriching one.

I think the book "Value Investing for Dummies" is quite useful also. I bet the rich contents would surprise most forumers here.

Ah, yes indeed. Good book. I bought the first edition. I've seen a new 2nd Edition out in bookstores. Would highly recommend this one too. It's written for laymen and in an easy-going, casual style; yet contains a lot of very good knowledge about value investing.
