I think, in this case, the defamatory statements were directed to the person.
I think it will be fair that these statements are removed.

I suppose it is ok to point out the abnormals and irregularities but to insinuate a person of some wrong doings is not right.

I doubt that this will be the first and last lawyer letter you are going to receive. Perhaps to educate us on what may constitute defamation, you can create a permanent page which can be referenced by all users here. It'll of course be meant as a guide, but at least, if you ever have to go to court, you'll at least be able to show some proof that you'd been proactive in your role here to inform all users not to post potentially defamatory comments.

Perhaps while registering or at the mainpage of Valuebuddies, a set of T&C could be included.
Things like not liable to any defamatory remarks, injuries to any person or their pets involved.

I agree with fellow forumer Kichialo's post that the public do get to know the existence of a legal suit between the high profile case of OHL & Citi, and the most recent case of LHL, LHY & TR Emeritus.

If the details of the suit are deemed confidential between both parties, fine.
But the existence of this legal suit can be brought into light.

If not, why are we hearing suits of people suing each other everyday in the gossip papers?

Getns, let's help out, esp those with legal background. I can assure you this forum is among the top quality investment forum in local arena.

If we can't even stand united, then the repurcussions of having once every few days of another XXX suing would be disastrous.
