6cts div no problem if Asia System wants it.

A 6 cents dividend would be very welcome but, imo, unlikely unless we see a significant growth in net income. Last year's extra 2 cents was driven by the extra ordinary gain following the purchase of its Malaysian affiliate (and that affiliate's cash balance). Neratel typically runs a peak cash balance of around $40mm which then drops to around $25mm post dividend. Its management is quite conservative and I think they like this cash buffer.

That's true although the Market may now expect it.Cool

Well, let's hope we are looking at a total 6 cents annual dividend....the other plausible explanation would be that they have just split the annual 4 cents dividend into 2 payments - something that they had mentioned as a possibility (at last year's AGM) as several investors had asked for more frequent payments.

Whilst the results were ok but nothing to get excited about (at the end of the day, lumpy orders makes quarterly analysis a bit difficult wrt trends), what really caught my eye was the statement that "we are in advance discussions with a bank for a debt facility to drive the growth of the company". Interestingly, this was under the headline : "Strong balance sheet, with zero debt".

To me this can only mean that the company is looking to make an acquisition (or several small ones) which would make sense given the fragmented nature of the competitive landscape and would position it for an eventual trade sale (presumably North Star's end game.

Hi good to see you are posting lotsa questions and your interest in Neratel. This is a company in quite a good and niche business segment.

Unfortunately I am not vested in Neratel as consider it overvalued. It has had a good run up these past couple years but since not moved much ever since their announcement of foray into Myanmar (supposed to be growth market, but for me its another bubble market if you have watched the UK Top Gear Folks racing lorries on their empty multilane highways, just like the race in empty Spanish Cities.)

Otherwise quite a few of your questions can be answered just by reading all the post in this thread all de way from page 1 Big Grin Another helpful resource is to go to SGX.com and download the annual reports for past few years which will shed more light on business direction.

Perhaps other buddies expert with Neratel can answer all in a row Big Grin

Neratel is only giving 2 cents of dividend.

This is a 50% drop from last year. I believe the market wont take this news too kindly. Expect a drop in share price tomorrow.
There are no good stocks. Stocks are only good when they go up after you bought them.

No one off gains mah, already expected. At least they have maintained 4c div at least from their 4.48c EPS, already gave 2cent interim last year. Div yield 5.19% not bad what.

Revenue wise is flat. Market should not have much reaction on this news.

But looks like the Myanmar growth story after all is just a story...
