This one though is on very low volume, (so far).

The Foxconn offer is lower.

It seems a bit far fetched to say the Foxconn sharp deal can result in this sudden jump
Unless it materializes into tangible orders for the new panels that CDW developed, otherwise how would that help CDW?
So far there is no such news

My hypothesis is that the new venture incorporated in Bangladesh is for manufacturing purposes, and if there is investment in manufacturing facilities, they must have secured orders.
If it is indeed related to manufacturing, it bodes well because the fact that it's a separate location from their existing facilities means that it's related to new orders for the newly developed panels

Interesting

Interesting

I shouldn't be saying this in valuebuddies, but in the short term, a share doesn't need a valid reason to jump up suddenly by so much Smile  it could be someone wants to 'fry' it up

Long term wise, CDW 's balance sheet still looks good

SGX query regarding trading activity on CDW!!

Well the obvious thing to explain the share rise is the blangadeshi announcement. Now it's out, share price would just stabilise again. Fit the pattern.

Two million sounds about right for setting up a factory. Think cdw got 3million when they sold one of their china factory couple years back.

However blangadesh is more of a textile hub. Interesting it be picked as production base unless cdw is planning big Push into INDIA market which would be a very very big thing.

if the Taiwan partner for developing new light guide is hon hai foxconn , this could be a change of major customer as cdw leaves sharp and makes hon hai major partner thus quick setup of this new factory

I will not be surprised if there is a person at SGX monitoring VB for shooting out trading query requests.

Especially in light of the 'fry' comment

and then probably comes the standard reply: Smile
- no, the company is not aware of information not previously announced
- the coy is not aware of any possible explanation of the trading
- the coy complies with the rules

At least someone in SGX is doing his job....

Although what can one expect?
CDW, like all the numerous other companies, will give the standard reply, saying they are in compliance, are unaware of any news etc.

yes standard reply... but SGX intent is to highlight these companies

Attended a speech by the SGX surveillance and seems they have software to monitor the trading volume and sometimes they contact the company personally first before issuing statements. And if there are actually something that might be substantial they actually allow some operational lag first as they investigate

LOL looks like we all can qualify to be the contact person between SGX and companies regarding their queries...
