For the record, I love my chialc but due to some strange reason, I can only use this account in one particular computer. When I try to logon using other computer, it always says invalid password... and, I had given up asking for new password (done it few times already).
So, when I'm using that particular computer then obviously I post as chialc.
However, my newly created chialc88 works wonder.
So far so good. Every computer I go to, I can logon successfully (don't dare to try using THAT PARTICULAR CHIALC COMPUTER thou).
So, you notice that CHIALC88 is doing more posting than CHIALC.
oh well... nevermind.... let me continue using both userid instead of troubleshooting...
on second thought, why not I stop using chialc?
decision, decision...

Each of us will have different portfolio performance requirements and therefore different portfolio composition.
I think it's important to remember that we don't have to beat the market, we just have to achieve our own investment objectives without taking unnecessary risks.
Hmm lets say my investment objective is just to maintain an annual income of $35000 in today's dollars for as long as I live (I am 65 now) while trying to preserve the principal as much as possible.
Would anyone advocate a place everything into REITs/bonds and just enjoy the income while saving the surplus to enther when opportunity comes strategy given my main goal is actually income and any capital gain is merely a bonus?
I have already bought H&S insurance but thank you very much for that suggestion. I think adequate insurance is the backbone of any financial plan.
You were just 57 around 6mths ago! And is having a passive income of at least $11700 a month!

scary - not really.
Its just that when the economy is getting bad/worst, then more and more people will want to trick you to part with your HARD EARNED $$$.
So we now know what phase of economy cycle we are in...

Hi City Farmer,
Thank you for allowing me to reply.
The intention of my posts is simply to obtain information, advice and a second opinion.
I absolutely agree there is conflicting info but I dont think the conflicting info provided would seem to change my intention in any way.
Before further action, I would like to confirm the following
There are two versions of story, one on previous thread, and one in this thread, which is the real story?
Others might think that I am shooting myself in the foot with the question, with the credibility at stake, but I chose to give you an opportunity to clarify.

Hi City Farmer,
None of them are actually my true story. Although the first is probably closer to reality (at that time) the second is partly true as well as I am anticipating a divestment gain on UIS and am looking for ideas on how to allocate the funds.
Moat of the details are fake but do give a good approximation of the unique situation I am in such that the conclusions drawn will not be different.

It's sad but true. A lot of people are in many forums to take rather than give.
