I have enough budget for either. Apply value investing and quality of life, which should i go ?

Property 1 : Condo (New)
Region: RCR
Area: 850 sqf
Price: S$1 M
Rental Value: S$3000
Proximity: School, NE MRT/CIRCLE

This leave me with heavier loan, small family, less money for equity and need more loan for car.

Property 2: HDB Re-Sale (10 yrs)
Region: NE Region
Area : 1200 sqf
Price: S$600K
Rental Value: S$3300
Proximity: School, Coffee Shop, Supermarket, NE MRT/LRT

This leave me with 400K to do stock investment, larger family, major renovation and a car.

Any advise ?

Cory

!!! of cos a larger family!!! :O

with or without $, i still want to have my family together with me!
as many kids as possible!

If not, what's the point of having soo much money for?? we can't bring $ with us when we KO...
1) Try NOT to LOSE money!
2) Do NOT SELL in BEAR, BUY-BUY-BUY! invest in managements/companies that does the same!
3) CASH in hand is KING in BEAR!
4) In BULL, SELL-SELL-SELL!

All things being equal (let's assume), with 400K "spare money" (really spare?) if you are good at investing and God Bless you, you can afford a $1,000,000 condo in no time. Plus (i think) you can sleep better at night.
Shalom.
WB:-

1) Rule # 1, do not lose money.
2) Rule # 2, refer to # 1.
3) Not until you can manage your emotions, you can manage your money.

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

brattzz, 10 pts for u for Family ! But no no ... 2 kids I will be happy and enough.

temperament, how we wish to have 100% blessing. I will have my job currently as a backup just in case. Tongue

pianist, I did a quick check on HDB site actually. Maybe the rental has comes down a little.
Old practice die hard to do thing with very rough estimate especially numbers.

Of course, of course a job as back up if you still can work or more important like to work. Even more fortunate if you like your work.

i found i was/am a "misfit in OFFICE POLITICS" though it was/is not difficult to like my work. But definitely a job is one of the blessings too. Office Politics was a struggle for me and my wife too (though she is a more tolerant person. Aka can stand more people's nonsense). Lucky me. But that is the main stimulant (hating Office politics) to get me into the investing world.

The aim is no matter what you do or don't do, you have to aim to sleep well at night. Or at least try your best to. Like you said having a family is a blessing too yet you are happy with 2 "extra" only.
And fortunately (or unfortunately) nowadays, most people can chose (plan) how many "extras" they want.
Some even choose to be "DINK" (to me not so good leh).
But why?
Of course we all have our own idea on how to aim to sleep well at night ma!
Shalom.
