There has been a lot of strange announcements appearing on SGX from unverified bank balances to missing sales manager. But this one take the cakes!
I'm no computer expert; but surely the back-up data for such a critical sub-systems would have been designed in such a way that it has to be separated from the main system so that such a crash would allow a roll-back. For the system not have such a roll-back speaks volume for the system implementation. Very bad. I hope there's no sinister excuse for the delay.

DELAY IN THE RELEASE OF AUDITED FULL-YEAR FINANCIAL RESULTS
Quote:The Company wishes to announce that it has experienced a computer crash which resulted in corrupted data files in its accounting systems, specifically only the inventory and bunker consumption sub-systems. These sub-systems were actually intended to accelerate its financial reporting process to assure timely release. Though the Company has back-ups for its systems, it was unable to restore the data as the computer crash also affected the backed-up data. To resolve the matter as soon as possible, the Company is rebuilding its database by re-inputting all 2010 transactions related to these sub-systems. This rebuilding exercise is expected to be completed within six weeks at the latest. Including consolidation and verification by the Company’s auditor, the Company expects to release its audited full year financial results for FY2010 within eight weeks at the latest from the date of this announcement.
