Anyone has any idea what is the best area for company to have free cash to invest. Amount from $500K to $1 mil? Some small bank has offered fix interest rate of 1.5% something, but it seems not so much. Also, the investment return from fix deposit need to report IRAS?

You may get 3% for deposits in NZ$ or RMB .

If you take more risk investing in REIT shares, you can get 6% but return of 100% capital not guaranteed.

You might want to look at finance companies fixed deposit instead. Alternatively you might look at investing in GLC bonds. I'm assuming you are risk averse
