Anybody has any thoughts on this company, which claims to be the originator of the ubiquitous thumb drive. They are going big on their Flucards, winning a big contract from Rely/ Mattel. Flucards are SD cards with wifi functionality. They are used mainly in cameras but will be used by Mattel for their educational dolls, if my memory does not fail me. They are suppose to have a very strong R and D team and have 600 patents (registered and pending). Their other partnerships include Toshiba, Sanyo, Panasonic, Nikon, Imation, Verbatim, Lenovo, etc. They finally turned profitable again and are giving a dividend of $0.005, first in a long time. Could this be a turnaround company? Would appreciate opinions from any buddies!

from the announcements, I believe it is not the flucard but rather the wi-fi memory modules that are being supplied to Rely/Mattel China for their interactive toys. the key thing here is that the recent announcement will have positive financial impact for FY2015 and given that the size of the contract is USD50mil, that is definitely substantial given that Trek only did USD112.9mil in revenue for FY2014.
according to the latest AR published, Trek has 436 granted patents and their partnerships with the Japanese MNCs such as Toshiba and Panasonic have certainly been long standing. these two MNCs also co-invested in one of Trek's cloud-based solution, Cloudstringers last year so hopefully some good synergies may be derived.
in terms of profitability, Trek has remained profitable in the last five years except for FY2012 where the company took an impairment to their IP. Trek has also been issuing dividends yearly since IPO except for FY2013 where it is believed that the management wishes to be prudent to retain cash for developments in FY2014. it seems like given the good financial performance in FY2014, the management has returned to rewarding shareholders with dividends.
from the AR, it seems like the focus for the company is in realising the IoT, particularly in consumer wearable, medical and cloud technologies. the rebranded ICS business division which houses thumbdrives, flucards, wifi memory modules is also the key growth driver for Trek as it collectively provides about 80+% of the company's revenue. let's see if the company can continue to maintain its growth momentum this year.

Great information. I must confess that I did not read their annual report, which I should have. A recent announcement, maybe about two days ago, stated that its CEO, Henn, sold of some shares. I suppose he needs some urgent cash. Otherwise it's a Buy call by 1 or two analysts, not that I trust them but at least there are no negative reports yet. This is growth company, I guess. Some more information abt the company can also be obtained at NextInsight.

correct me if I am wrong but I believe it was Henn's spouse who disposed some shares in the announcement filed on SGX.
RHB is the only brokerage that covers Trek at present but if the company does achieve the forecasted results, present valuations seem rather attractive. that being said, the recent announcement on USD50mil contract is surely a boost to confidence.

This has led to 3Q14 revenue surging 119% YoY to USD35.6m from USD16.3m, and NPAT leaping 144.5% to USD0.76m from USD0.31m.
Here comes the cheerleaders....

You are right. It was His wife who sold off. Here is the announcement:

OSK/DMG as mentioned also covers it.

They managed to 'entice' Osim to invest. Well done.....
Would the company be able to report $7.6m for 2h2015 since DMG expects US$9.2m for FY2015.
