lol and DBS just spent big money to acquire what ANZ dun want. Looks like DBS may need another bail out next year if things really get bad.

SELF-DRIVING vehicles could be running on public roads in Singapore within 10 to 15 years, says the Ministry of Transport (MOT), but not before surmounting issues such as the cost of the technology and public acceptance.
Singapore on Monday unveiled the next stage of autonomous unmanned vehicle development with various trials and partners. Under the roadmap for self-driving vehicles and mobility concepts, four tracks have been identified by the Committee on Autonomous Road Transport in Singapore (Carts) - fixed and scheduled services for mass transport within and between towns; shared services for point-to-point and first- and last-mile travel; freight, with the carriage of goods for long-distance delivery; and utility operations, such as road sweepers.
"Self-driving vehicles can radically transform land transportation in Singapore to address our two key constraints - land and manpower," says Pang Kin Keong, permanent secretary for transport and Carts chairman.

Technology will lead policy and public acceptance.
For example, if a self driving car gets into an accident. Who is liable? How will this damage acceptance (even if you "prove" that self-driving vehicles get into less accidents than drivers will).

It will very likely become that gov will have dedicated lanes for self driving cars and buses so they have less chance for traffic jam and accidents. So if there is accident, very high chance its the human driven cars fault.
Besides most self driving cars/bus will probably have special colors and be mounted with many cameras making them highly visible. So if you crash into one it will very likely be your fault. Otherwise with 360 degrees camera recording on these vehicles, it will be very easy to decide liability..
and just like lorry, the automated vehicles are also very likely to have a lower speed limit making it less likely for serious accidents happening.
In the small chance it's the robot cars fault, these public co. Will have more than enough insurance coverage.

can we accept robots/software logarithms interacting with human interferences (see singapore reckless drivers.com) and put in-charge (driver-seat) of actual human lives?
I know i cannot accept (for now) ...
For transportation, I trust the unmanned trains (eg, North east line to puggol, T1/T2/T3 sky rail) ... cos they have their own RAILS and stations without other human interferences!!
only risk is kanna "catched" by the train's doors or falling between the gap....

Singapore's NODX drop 12% y-o-y in Oct

SINGAPORE'S non-oil domestic exports extended their drop in October, sinking 12 per cent year-on-year after a revised 5 per cent fall in September.
Month-on-month, the NODX declined by a seasonally adjusted 3.7 per cent in October following a 2.2 per cent in rise in the previous month.
Shipments to all top 10 markets fell with the exception of Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea. The EU, Japan and Indonesia were the three biggest contributors to NODX's decline in October.
Non-oil re-exports sank 8.9 per cent year-on-year in October, against a 1.2 per cent increase in September.
Both the electronic and non-electronic NODX also continued to drop in October. The electronic NODX slipped 6 per cent, easing from a 6.6 per cent fall in September.
The non-electronic NODX extended a 4.2 per cent decrease in September to a 14.6 per cent plunge in October.
