Japan exchange is definitely the last few ones in the list, as a non-RMB offshore hub, and the current relationship with China...

Japan exchange wants to join Hong Kong-Shanghai link

HONG KONG (Nov 6): Japan Exchange Group, the country’s main bourse operator, wants to join the planned equity-trading link between Hong Kong and Shanghai.

“The Chinese market is very important for us; we will try to be part of this link,” Hiromi Yamaji, the chief executive officer of Osaka Exchange, a unit of Japan Exchange, told reporters in Hong Kong.

Yamaji did not specify how the operator of the Tokyo Stock Exchange intends to join the trading link.

With the linking up of HK and Shanghai, there will be no more distinction between A-share and H-share? Reminds me of the old times when we had SIA and SIA Foreign shares.

I reckon it is still differences, in term of liquidity and capital tax issues. It is yet to find out more, after the link is launched.

I think H and A shares are different equity line in the B/S so they are not technically fungible but similar economic interest

Yes, it will take a while for the relationship to go back to normal.

A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.
