Does it serve as a good example for black swan events which can bring down a MYR 3.5 billion company over few months?

MAS likely to be delisted: Report
KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia Airlines (MAS) faces the prospects of being delisted following the second tragedy to hit the national carrier in less than five months, reported Bloomberg today.
In March, flight MH370 disappeared with 239 people on board and on Thursday (July 17), flight MH17 was shot down in eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 passengers and crew. The two disasters were likely to end the flag carrier’s days as a publicly traded company, Bloomberg said.
MAS plans to present a revival plan to its biggest stakeholder Khazanah Nasional this week, sources told the financial portal yesterday. The options range from privatising the company to bankruptcy, both of which involve a delisting from Bursa Malaysia.

Plethora of issues for M'sian Airlines to deal with.. Low staff morale, insurance payouts, etc.. Mammoth task ahead in a rather difficult industry.. Will Airasia benefit from this?
(Not vested in either)

Isn't it strange that on the day a news article comes that company is going bankrupt, shares rise up 15% (from RM 0.20 to RM 0.23). Am i missing something there or bankruptcy news is a smoke signal, Khazanah is going to buy it at a higher price? any gurus please enlighten

It is now a call option for privatisation
If it doesn't let Proton go bankrupt i think low chance it will let airline go bankrupt.
I think a revival of Airasia involvement, maybe a reverse takeover with khazanah backing, is not impossible
