Most brokers will amalgamate them into one trade. Even let's say you buy 5 shares of SingTel in the unit share market, 20 shares of SingTel 10, 200 shares of SingTel 100 and 1,000 shares of SingTel, all will be amalgamated and consider as one trade, since they are all the same counter.

Similarly, you buy 999 shares of Hupsteel in the unit share market, another 999 shares of Hupsteel in the unit share market and another 2 shares of Hupsteel in the unit share market, all will be amalgamated and consider as one trade of 2,000 shares of Hupsteel. Why I use this example? It is because you can't place more than 999 shares in one trade in the unit share market for a stock with a board lot of 1,000 shares. Therefore, you have to place separate trades.

Note that I am assuming that you place and fill all your trades within one trading day for amalgamation to take place.

Conditions for auto-amalgamate:
1.The trades must be done on the same trading day.
2.The trades must be of the same stock.
3.The trades must be of the same action.
(A buy action can be amalgamated with another buy action regardless of the trading mode)
4.The trade is done through the same account.
5.The payment mode must be the same. (cash or CPF)
6.The settlement currency must be the same. (USD or SGD or HKD or AUD or MYR or JPY)
