Am keen to try to pull data from Google Finance (which gets data from SGX right?). I understand if I use Google spreadsheet, I can use a formula to automatically update indicators like 'price'. Does anyone know if it is possible to automatically update 'dividend', 'dividend yield' or 'price-to-book'? And where can I find the formula?

@CityFarmer, thanks for sharing the magic formula. Will have a read in detail.

Am just beginning to construct a portfolio, and to track my returns. Look forward to starting this learning journey, and hope not too many bruises along the way Wink

Take off my hat to you Drizzt for the portfolio spreadsheet! If there is a similar free to use spreadsheet for portfolio NAV calculation, that will be godsend.

If you're keen to use Google Sheets, there is a limit to the kinds of fields you can pull from Google Finance. (see here)

Unfortunately, I don't seem to see Div Yield or P/B or Book Value there so you won't be able to have a sheet of all SGX listed stocks with their Div to P/B all the time.

I use Google Stock Screener for this- they have fields for both div yield and p/b. Run the screen, then copy and paste the results into an excel sheet and work the p/b from there. I also happen to have access to a bloomberg so I also run the lists from there.

Anyway, word of caution, some of the names on the list will look really ugly. I normally just use the list as a shortlist to dig further into each co. (whether FCF is constantly positive etc.).

EDIT: Also not to mention that any one-off unsustainable dividends will totally mess up the ratio so gotta sieve those out too.
Happy investing!

Wow interesting from journalist to stand alone FM in 2 years. Am keen to see if there is a secret source that tiger cubs or Goldman alumni also couldn't replicate consistently

Looks like she is going it alone. Given her profile and time in AAM, I believe she will attract sufficient AUM to run a 0% management fee fund. It's quite a big risk to fund 100% of the fund's expenses on your own. I wonder how much she is paying SAFS.

In terms of returns, I believe both AAM and Teh will be similar, since they clearly believed in the same strategy. Why did she leave AAM which was clearly enjoying much success? With the phenomenal growth of AAM's AUM, she must have sold her 25% stake for a good profit.

Tried to access the fund's website but wasn't able to. Too many visitors on the first day?

It is too bad that she is no longer writing. Hope to read her articles again.

Wish her success!

How you define AMM's success? Asset gathering or performance?
