Can penguin truly fly? Does penguin truly have a competitive advantage? Does this advantage appear only when oil prices are high? Are penguin's crew boats still a necessity when times are bad or are they sold as toys when times are good? I am not too sure but it is easy to say yes to the first 2 questions when oil prices are high

Penguins by nature can't really fly. However they can swim very fast underwater and shoot out and "fly" and then land on the iceberg.

or launch out of the water like flying fish to travel faster over the ocean. Tongue

In reality, the share is back to below 10c (pre-consolidation) now, definitely worth a look now but probably a better time to load up will be next year after the full year result is out and the div is cut and all the blood letting in the OnG and Shipping sectors have well and truly started.
Virtual currencies are worth virtually nothing.

Buddies who have considered the risks posted since a year ago when Penguin was >20cents would have done well to have sold or chose not to vest. The recent CRASH in Penguin share price is a good demonstration of herd investing behaviour, which unfortunately has happened even on VB where we are supposed to be more contrarian and value orientated.

can remember many bulls were announcing proudly they had bought in at 20c+ levels, etc. etc.

Personally, i call this the small cap trap and i had learnt it the hard way. A small cap gets pushed into prominence after its share price has a good run, and subsequently, a growth story is been built around it to attract more liquidity. At this point, 'insiders' and the smart $ starts to exit. But for Penguin, i did notice that the difference with the previous small cap traps i had followed, was that it had a low P/E, compared to the other traps that had P/E in the small-to-medium teens....On hindsight, i guess this difference is the reason why it sucked in many VBs (low PE = undervaluation)

Many threads ago, someone posted youtube videos of emperor penguins. That to me, was the obvious red flag (of exuberance). Else-wise, it was really hard not to stick to the herd.

This thread has allowed me to learn a lot about penguins' biology. Big Grin

When videos of emperor penguins were once posted, I postulated that it was an obvious red flag (of exuberance). Now that videos of penguins have been posted again, it would be interesting to look into penguin (international) very soon I suppose.

This is especially evident if we compare to Triyards who have successfully managed to secure customers for crew transfer vessels servicing the offshore wind farms. I wonder if Penguin's fleet and vessel designs are less versatile than thought.

I am getting sensitive towards this. The management seems to be smoking their way through, or are there real difficulties out there...

Management smoking? Unlikely. Why I say so? Just look at the latest first para added on the front page of Penguin's website.....

I suppose it is more like the prospective buyers of Penguin's stock crew boats are taking their time to commit or negotiate for a better price.

WJ and BK,
I posted the Penguin flying video in early June to test out our valuebuddies feeling about Penguin (ship).

The silence in this forum on Penguin (ship) tells me that the situation is quite bleak.

After reading the few posts yesterday and today, Penguin still have a lot of supporters...
...waiting for next Q result.

Meanwhile, shall we support Penguin by going to Batam?

Thank you.

IMO not much is happening from Penguin.

The only positive is that Pelician Offshore, Penguin's subsidiary, has reduced vessels for charter/sale from 16 to 14 this quarter I will be interested to see how much of inventories will fall this FY. This is because Penguin's due from customers has increased from zero to 2.7 mil, while liabilities from customers due fell from 2,322 to zero. At the end of this FY, it will be rather clear to see how much unsold inventories is left.
