Doesn't look likely if you frequent the 'ground'. At its present state, even thailand, philippines and indonesia are better propositions.

Crime, corruption and wanton waste of tax-payer dollars. Every country has it, just that malaysia tops all the developing countries in both reality and perception.

Their problem is compounded by the exodus of the better educated and smarter citizens to other countries due to their bumiputra policies. With the current government policies, it is unlikely that there will be reversal of pro-bumiputra policies if UMNO is still in power.

It is quite likely that both the chinese and india population will continue to drop to a level that they will become even more inconsequential in the elections. So, going forward, it will be even more pro-bumiputra until there are no non-bumiputra left.

They have also dismantled the English education and allows vernacular schools to exist which also make integration of races hard.

All these are not irreversible but it sure will take at least 20-30 years to reverse it even if they start now.

of course it will not happen but I doubt it's hardly a factor at all for non-malay citizens. Corruption could also looked at another angle to mean that things are easy to get done. Minor infringment can be overlooked or forgiven for a small handout or fee, what's so bad about that? In singapore you litter you pay a fine also? that money at the end goes to some civil servant paycheck is the same thing.

If it were really bad they all non-bumis would have fled to singapore long time ago, ask yourself why many well educated malaysians who have have work here, seen for themselves our "clean system" meritocracy and all that still choose to retain their msian citizenship? Is because they seen how the government treats foreigners better compared to it's own citizens that they rather remain status quo isn't it? And those that take up citizenship you only need to look at what national table tennis players are doing to guess the likely outcome.
