Thanks for referring us to your blog. Good read there Smile

Hi, Keat1979 & secretinvestors, your information is great and easy joyful reading. Thanks. AP Oil subsidiaries may deserve more study than the company its self. For the past 5 years, their equity double while the company equity only up 64%. Happy investing.

Hi, Everyone,

Any idea on why this counter moves up with some volumes? Any insights? Seems someone is persistently accumulating. Thanks,

This stock is usually thinly traded thus any sort of buying will push it up very quick. Not much value to speculate the reasons why.

You can read previous post on this thread to get more insights and feel for the stock.

Today (14Jul15), backed by a high volume transacted of 3.5m shares, AP Oil shot up $0.05, or a full 20%, to close at an all-time high of $0.30.

Such a sharp price movement has never happened before. Something positive cooking?

I think it's likely due to broker initiation coverage this morning by KGI Fraser - Target Price : $0.37

"Trading at just 8.1x FY15F P/E (2.0x ex-cash), FY15F P/B at 0.8x and 1.6x FY15F EV/EBITDA, with S$0.19 of net cash per share (out of share price of S$0.25), AP Oil already looks like a delicious bargain. However, stocks can remain cheap without catalysts. Investors can look to potential acquisitions as stock price catalysts. Share price will also be driven higher in the event of a dividend hike. Our target price of S$0.37 is pegged at 12x FY15F P/E, which is a 43% discount to its larger peer, Fuchs"

A very good and detailed report indeed. Kudos to the author/analyst Renfred Tay from KGI Fraser Securities.

It is great that AP Oil as a well-established and managed business is finally discovered and re-rated by Mr Market towards its justified fair value. Is KGI Fraser's TP pegged at $0.37 too high? IMHO, not at all.

Although the bulk of the contents are easily obtained from the annual reports & prospectus, it seems that they physically met and questioned the management and nice insights are gained from it. Many investors are concerned with the quality and integrity of the AP Oil's management and I believe this report has brought in a somewhat refreshing and positive viewpoint of management that is contrary to what many believed.

I just chanced upon this article yesterday and noticed AP Oil is one of the winners in 2 categories (Established Brands 2015 & Maybank Regional Brands) for the Singapore Prestige Brand Award 2015. More info about this article can be found here:
