Online shopping soars in China

HONG KONG — Chinese consumers shop online more frequently than their counterparts elsewhere, using gadgets such as smartphones and tablets, according to a report released on Tuesday by the consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

The findings, based on a survey of more than 11,000 online shoppers in 11 countries, underline the speed at which China has emerged as one of the world’s most wired retail markets.

Online shopping, nearly non-existent in China as recently as five years ago, has emerged as a major sales channel for retailers, with combined sales of about 1.3 trillion yuan (S$2.6 billion) last year, said Ms Carrie Yu, a China and Asia-Pacific retail and consumer expert at PwC in Hong Kong.

more than 11,000 surveyed so those unsurveyed means the number of online shopping is much higher? Tongue that's why groupon gone case.

To sidetrack I found the best business using internet is selling things that are not physical that don't require much manpower to deliver or adding any transportation cost. The best thing on internet is to sell content, contents is just zero and one when you drill down into it.

content like gambling, music, porn sites, gaming - WOW

the common here is they excite the brain senses Big Grin
