Yup, the rise and fall coincided with the release of a report from CS.

I think there is more to it. JK tech did a private placement of 150m shares at $0.04 .. almost 40% discount to last traded as well as it diluted ezion major stake of 29% to 14%.. This may cause the swing for ezion lately.

I really don't know how this would swing the price of Ezion. In fact, I think they did not make a good decision by investing in JK Tech when they don't have the expertise to do exploration. Exploration projects require huge capital expenditure and Ezion core business is already capital-intensive. I think this is part of the reason why Ezion drops over the last few months after the announcement on the investment in JK Tech. The dilution might be a better news for Ezion as they have to fork out lesser amount of money for JK Tech exploration business.

As to whethere they are good in their respective field, I am not able to judge as I am not in marine and offshore industry..but they and I mean the o&g sector mid cap players tend to be somehow involve in taking a substantial stake in smaller listed companies and turn them e&p or whatever not. Just to cite a few examples like swiber & vallianz, Ezra & Loy energy.

As for Ezion case, when they hold 29% stake they will turn effective controlling shareholders at 30% mark which they didn't and placement took face without Ezion involvement at a severely reduce price and their controlling stake become unoptimal.

Just some thoughts..going thru my mind.
Why didn't they push thru to become controlling shareholder at 30% (fallout between the folks?) so what's for Ezion now with jk tech?
Reduce jk tech stake? Realise loss? Or double up to show whose the boss? It's anybody guess..

In fact I would rather hope that they do not own controlling stakes of JK Tech. I am really sceptical about the turnaround business by JK Tech in O&G Exploration. It is obvious that new shareholders are not confident in their O&G business and that's why they need to raise money with 41% discount. JK Tech is an IT company. O&G is totally different from JK Tech's competency.

yes, i actually did. the fall as far as i have read is due to the three points:

1) selling by two substantial share holders which are fundhouses
2) the USD strength where their debt is denominated in USD
3) falling oil prices

the fundhouse selling i have no control over, but i do think that the USD debt should be hedged by the contract wins which are also denominated and paid in USD. also oil prices cannot fall too far since the world is still so reliant on oil. that's just my opinion tho. DYODD please.
