I know this sounds OT, but for myself, I never even print a receipt when I go to an ATM.

Many with instalments to pay, are living from hands to mouths. I know of a few borrow to the maximum to buy car , flats and renovations...... walking on thin ice.

I considered going green but the ATM will flash your balance at the end of the session. If my balance happens to be a large amount, I'd be fearful of some criminally inclined person behind me watching and observing and seeing.... Call me paranoid, but better safe than sorry...

i think these form the majority of pple. every single day can be a nightmare for those pple. singapore no natural resources unlike m'sia or china where pple can grow their own produce n can survive with little or no money. s'pore life gets miserable without much money. and for most of these pple, they will likely remain status quo for a lomg time to come unless a miracle happens.

it pities me when sometimes i go to the atm and find receipts of accounts left only tens of dollars. if u guys open ur eyes n just take time to scrutinise some receipts left.behind, u will see that this is not an uncommon occurrence. i really wonder how they live life.
Maybe they are happier?
If bank balance is directly linked to Happiness in life, then perhaps Bhutan could be the saddest country in the world and Singapore, one of the happiest?
But i read a report which shows otherwise....of course, the report could be written by "poor" people..haha
Interesting, isn't it?

Think of it, the right way is to send the balance to HP through SMS. Besides avoiding revealing your balance to someone nearby, the account holder will be alerted if there is any unauthorized cash withdrawal.
Any bankers here or bank operation staffs want to propose this to your bank?
And, I think SMS is cheaper than receipt.

I'm personally not in favor of any online receipts like sms or email whether is from atm tickets or bank / cc statements and I always opt out.
Maybe it can save cost but really how does these savings of few cents benefit to me or to you? Cumulatively they could add up to quite a bit but in the end it will make it's way into some business owner pocket or shareholder's pocket.
But it will not be benefit to me.
