Is there any way to retrieve, for free, historical info on stuff like index opening and closing levels, average index P/E ratios or industry average P/E ratios? Have looked at Bloomberg, but found that I can only retrieve ST Index opening and closing levels up to 2005 and then not on exact dates like 01 Jan or 31 Dec.

Also, was wondering if admins could create Sticky Threads that track ST Index's historical averages? Could include stuff like Dividend Yields, Average P/B and P/E ratios... Just some basic info we can refer to when doing our research... Or is that too much work?... Tongue

Chart nexus provides free end-of-day charting of STI. Bloomberg (need to create account) provides p/b and p/e ratios.

Hi Jon-San,

Your request is noted. I personally think it might be too tedious and difficult to do so, and this information should be freely available on sites such as Yahoo! Finance anyway.

Cheers!

Your admin will figure out a way to pull data from yahoo or other financial portal if it is possible and free to do so. This may need some time because it will be done on a spare time and involves a lot of programming. Thanks for the suggestion.
