I would like to appeal for donors and donations - especially from fellow forumers who have benefited from my postings in VB over the years - to support the Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF).....
http://www.ccf.org.sg/index.htm
and my daughter's (now studying in RGS) current efforts to raise funds for CCF as part of her team, Project Hearts with Hope....
http://www.facebook.com/HeartsWithHope2012?filter=1
, working under this year's Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes (YFC) programme. YFC is a highly successful social involvement/awareness and assistance programme organized and sponsored by YMCA and Citibank for a few years now.....

http://www.youthforcauses.com/about.html

I believe CCF's cause to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families is a very worthwhile one, and I urge all of you who believe in their cause to make a donation, however small the amount may be. Please make your donation by cheque, which should be made payable to:
Children's Cancer Foundation
and mail it to CCF's office address:
298 Tiong Bahru Road #03-05, Central Plaza, Singapore 168730.

If you wish to identify your donation to my daugther's team, please write on the back of the cheque the following:
Project Hearts with Hope (YFC Group) - Ng Shi Min

I encourage all donors to drop me a private message via VB, as I want to acknowledge you and thank you, in private of course!

Its a good idea to donate.
If in any way the forum could keep track of the donated amount, it might encourage more donation.

Cool! It'll be great to see buddies giving some earnings back to the society. A chart to track total donations sounds good. It will motivate more to give.

IMO, no question is too dumb... Everyone has to start somewhere. I remembered myself as a newbie and how kind many were even tho' I was asking very dumb Qs (on hindsight). Even now, I continue to ask many dumb Qs (to the more experienced / more familiar) but many here continue to be nice...Thx! Tongue

Many times, by answering newbie Qs (aka dumb Qs to some), I also learn something new when I think through in a more thorough manner / search the internet to structure the reply such that a newbie can understand.

As long as the dumb Qs are more due to inexperience, I think it's ok, right? But, if it's consistently due to laziness + only 1-way traffic, after a while, no one's going to bother to answer you..Tongue

IMO,
i believe even dumb question deserves to be answered. (If asks sincerely.)
Of course dumb questions will get dumb answers.
Soon he will realise he needs to ask intelligent question.
So he knows he has to do some work before asking another question.
And of course intelligent questions deserve intelligent answers.

Like me, i can't ask much intelligent questions, because i am quite lazy to do homework even after reading many books.
But it's O. K. for me because a lot of intelligent people here are asking a lot of intelligent questions and a lot of intelligent people here are answering them.
So you see even a "DUMB" who can't ask intelligent questions can understand most of the intelligent answers here.
Thank you very much.Big Grin
Shalom.

Donations can be done online or at AXS stations (for those who doesn't like the hassle of issuing a cheque and having to post it),

http://www.ccf.org.sg/donate.htm

Can also donate to other charities, can choose from,

BUT, for those who wants to identify their donations to 'dydx', I'm not sure if it's possible for online donations.

Some banks offer ecashiers' order or online cheque.
Free delivery to cheque's recipient address.

Perhaps wthose who feel indebted can treat the advice that they have received and knowledge they have obtained through this forum, the same way we should treat acts of kindness - pay it forward. All of us must have some knowledge or experience that is unique that others can learn and benefit from. Let's share them.
