UOB is one of the most stingiest local bank with fix deposit rates. I have long transfer bulk of my money to ocbc. My stupidity for sticking with them over the past few years have cost me several tens of k of interest rates lost.

Better returns from dividends.
4.5% per annum based on $19.50 per share.

The forward div yield for Y2015 will actually be higher at 5.6% based on $19.50 per share. $0.20 (just announced) + $0.50 (final dividend) + $0.05 (special dividend) + $0.35 (interim dividend). They have consistently be able to pay $0.50 final div so it's pretty safe to assume they will do the same this year. They also paid a special dividend at the same time than the final dividend every year for the last 3 years so unless their results strongly deteriorate it is also safe to assume it will still be paid this year. Interim dividend has never been decreased, only increased so I am assuming it will still be $0.35 SGD but who knows.
Really not bad...
Also, it is great thing that they resumed the dividend script. They did not say if they will also offer the dividend script for their final dividend in 6 months but this definitely raise the chances they will do so.

Results today are overall good quality and this sustains easily the dividend payments so hopefully their balance sheet will remain healthy. The key threat I can see is impairments on the balance sheets if the slowdown in China accelerates...

They have been very clear with their message:

UOB - Right by U

They have nothing to prove except the results that they have delivered.
