Based on the above report from S&P, It seem like JB Foods is a good punt/"tikam".

PE: 19.6X
Price to Book: 4X
Dividend Yield: 2%

But they're different league though Petra food revenue USD1,702.2 million, compared with RM 690.622 million.

JBFoods can be like Petra one day. At least, thats their aim. Succesful expansion into Indonesia is the key to everything.

petra food was one of the worst regret in my life...i bought at $0.35 and sold it off totally at $0.70 based on the DBS vickers analyst recommendation to sell.

You obviously underestimated the global appetite for chocolate and cocoa products.

I drink Milo everyday, eat Ferrero Rocher and Hersheys. Tongue

Wow, 350 lots which is equal to S$105K, look like you're pretty cash rich Smile Smile. I only tikam tikam for 10 lots only, me small player compared to you Smile Smile.

I'd looked at the ROE of JB Food for the last 3 years was from 30% to 50% which is very impressive but current gearing of 92% is a bit on the high but still better than petra food which is > 100%.

I'm only a small player with limited $$$ and only want to tikam tikam after doing some research Smile Smile

As for the net gearing of JB Foods I use the prospectus information and derived from it. Refer to section "CAPITALISATION AND INDEBTEDNESS" for more information. The definition of net gearing = net debt / shareholder's total equity.

For the Petra food, you may like to refer to the Research from S&P to find out more.

They come from JBCocoa (subsidiary of JBFoods), Guan Chong, Noble, Olam and Petra Big Grin

Nestle will always pick the ones who sell it at the cheaper price. But Cocoa Powder is a tradeable commodity, so if futures market is cheaper they will buy from futures market.

You apply 350lots also no point, only 3000lots available. Probably get 8lots or so Tongue

The discussion so far trigger interest on me. Will put both petra food and JB food into my watch list.

I recalled petra did a partnership with Super group in Indonesia some time ago. Petra distribution and retail network should be strong in Indonesia i assume.
