Thank you very much d.o.g. for your reply!
That's pretty expensive for $2k, do you know of any cheaper alternative? like calling up some NTU professors?

D123 told me that Bloomberg terminal is accessible from National library. Will go there and get some good reports!

$2k/hr was what we paid the expert network. I think the experts themselves got a lot less. NTU and NUS do have some good people. But obviously the majority of the experts are going to be located elsewhere. That's what we really paid for - access to the right people. Most of these people were working in the industry rather than in academia.

The National Library has a few Bloomberg terminals available. There is free access for one hour (you have to sign up there and wait your turn). Be warned that unless you are already a proficient user, it will take you many sessions to figure out how to be truly productive in that one hour. But hey, you get what you pay for.

That will help me to evaluate the strength of the company with less time and better accuracy. If I post questions on forum, the answer I get may be too brief for evaluation.

There are some websites for outsourcing freelance tasks. I have no experience hiring financial researchers through these platforms but I noticed there are certainly freelancers with skills & knowledge in finance. For very specific knowledge such as the Hyflux business you will need some luck finding for example someone with an engineering degree in that field. However, some of these websites are huge so it may even be possible:

http://www.guru.com
http://www.elance.com
http://www.vworker.com
http://www.brickworkindia.com/ (this is a slightly different virtual assistent service)

In general, I recommend testing freelancers with a relatively small task and see how they deal with that.
