When I look back, one of my regret was not investing enough in the US relative to Bursa. This is because the Bursa performance over the past decade was not as exciting as those the US. You can see this from the chart below where the light blue line represents the S&P500 whereas the dark blue line is KLCI.

At the end of the day, we invest to make money and for this to happen we want an up-trending market. From a fundamental perspective, this meant better economic growth.
But the main reason, I prefer the US compared to say China or other developing market is that it has a better regulated environment. As a fundamental investor, I rely on the annual reports to provide the information required to analyze and value companies. The reports have to be reliable for this to be useful.
