Real estate prices are riding on an increasing note with a record speed as the WFH trend persists in the midst of the global pandemic crisis which saw families pushing out of big cities in 2021 - are investment in new homes new condominium in the big cities still as good as before?
The US home prices increased by 18 per cent in the year leading up to November and was led by the likes of Arizona, Florida and Idaho.  New York has moderate gain of just 7.6 per cent.
Sydney and Melbourne saw an exodus while Queensland, however, saw prices leapt by more than 30 per cent.  The same pattern being repeated itself in Britain with London experiencing lower growth as compared to rural areas.
2021 was a good year for those building wealth through real estate investment where there were record breaking price gain in certain markets.  On the other such opportunity did not come by easily for would-be buyers as they watched in dismay as prices outpaced their savings depriving them of their dreams of home ownership further away.
Despite a sharp slowdown experienced in both Melbourne and Sydney as the year drew to a close, price records were smashed through in December with Melbourne house prices fell by 0.1 per cent - the first month-on-month fall since October 2020 while Sydney had a small increase of just 0.3 per cent.
The pull factor favouring regional markets was affordability where housing values are up to 32 per cent since March 2020, compared to the 20 per cent lift in values seen across the combined capital.
In Singapore, price increase was seen across all spectrum of the real estate with the good class bungalows leading with highest percentage point increase followed by new condo.  The government housing sector, HDB, was not spared from the price increase.
