10 Singaporeans make police report against investment group Sure Win 4 U for losses totalling $4 million

SINGAPORE - At least 10 Singaporeans filed a report on Monday against a Malaysia-based investment company with the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD), a white-collar crime unit under the Singapore Police Force.

The Straits Times understands that the investment company, Sure Win 4 U, entices the public to make an investment and guarantees a monthly return with bonuses. The profits apparently come from casino winnings by "expert gamblers" hired by the company.

Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported on Tuesday that the company claimed on a flyer its "experts" have a 99.8 per cent chance of winning at the casinos, and clients come from countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and China.

Besides the 10 Singaporeans, four other Chinese nationals and Hong Kong citizens have also filed a report at the CAD, reported Wanbao. They have lost $4 million in total. These reports are believed to be the first against Sure Win 4 U.- See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapo...s9hMl.dpuf

The problem isn't on awareness, IMO. They have chosen to ignore the warnings, both in paper and TV...

In the mind of gamblers or "investors" alike, one would always want to pick a side which in their view has the highest probability of winning. In the form of soccer gambling, they would always bank on the hot favorite teams to win i.e. Germany to win in 90mins for WC finals, or in the form of shares investing, they would be picking heavy blue chips like SIA - looking backwards to their past glories.

It has got to do with our sub conscious mind to hunt for safe havens when the stakes get higher. So people tend to lean towards Scams like "Sure win 4 U". It is here when all the big bosses, bookies work their magic to tilt the plate to their favor. It is an age old trade and people still got stuck.

The above are my own experiences and observation. Any buddies to comment?

In the game of life, there must always be losers for winners to exist. It's like a musical chair game, once the music stop who is left standing will lose his entire stake in the game.

If sure win, why would they need you to invest. Doesn't make sense at all. Fail.

Who do you think are the easier to scam?? Those with spare cash OR those without any cash?

From observations, those without any cash are easier to scam. Why? Because they DESPERATELY WANT to believe the scam is true.
They will self-rationalise internally. No need to explain too much or convince them. And they will beg, steal or borrow to give
money to the scammers.
