at 20 times earnings doesn't M1's valuations look expensive?
Its gearing is also pretty high at over 60%
however the yield does looks attractive at close to 6%, may be a better choice than reits

IIRC, when I have decided to buy M1 around 2010, at around $2, the PE is also around 20, and with a higher gearing than now.
BTW, the current net gearing should be lower than 60%.
I am glad I have decided then.

M1's Q3 profit up 12.7% to $45m
AsiaOne
Thursday, Oct 16, 2014
SINGAPORE - M1 today announced the unaudited group financial results for the nine months ended September 30, 2014.
Service revenue grew 1.1 per cent year-on-year to $619.8 million, driven by higher revenue from mobile data and growth in fixed customer base. Mobile data revenue grew 6.3 percentage points to 34.5 per cent of service revenue.
Net profit after tax increased 9.7 per cent year-on-year to $131.2 million.
For the third quarter, net profit rose 12.7 per cent year-on-year to $44.5 million.
The telco added that its mobile customer base was 1.9 million as at end-September this year.
Postpaid customers grew to 22,000 year-on-year, while the prepaid customer base declined due to the regulatory reduction of prepaid SIM cards per subscriber from 10 to three.
Quarter-on-quarter prepaid revenue was stable at $20.3 million and so was the monthly postpaid churn, at 1.1 per cent. During the quarter, M1's fibre customer base grew to 98,000.
It is estimating moderate growth in net profit after tax for this financial year.

I agree. The growth in fibre customers has been quite consistent.

I thank you for the switch, as a M1 shareholder
Among the three telcos, SingTel is focusing on its global digital life plan, rather than on Singapore market. Starhub newly on-board CEO, doesn't has the urgency on competition.
I am glad as a M1 shareholder, with an increased margins in EBITDA and NP, amid the competition

You put me in a dilemma.....
As a M1 shareholder, I thank you. But as a Starhub shareholder, I cannot thank you. Hahahaha......
Anyway, on a serious note. No matter how customers 'telco-hop' in Singapore, I am alright, bcos I am vested in all 3 of them.
Unless they hop to MyRepublic.....

Which myrepublic is likely to buy telco broadband from either of the 3 telcos should ida open up for more competition...
I still prefer m1 and starhub more. Think singtel is spending ah gong money on global digital life failures. Telcos have rarely innovated to profit.
