Hi all

Din see any thread on Talkmed, the medical oncology company. Can share your views on this share?. I like their business model since they are dealing with cancer, the no 1 disease in Singapore.

I am not vested but thinking of buying.

only real drawback to their model is the key man who drives alot of their revenue, but in time this should improve.

Other than that, high cashflows, low debt, high margins, ready moat - what's not to like?

looks like this counter is gaining some publicity considering its ipo roadshow was quite muted.

rare also to see counters with a fairly simple business model, with high cashflows, a sizable cash hoard and no debt.

dxdx, would you think its P/E is rather high?

Looks expensive now. Good for those who vested earlier this year.

PROMINENT cancer specialist Ang Peng Tiam, who is the chief executive officer and main revenue contributor of Catalist-listed TalkMed Group, has been given an eight-month suspension by the Singapore Medical Council after a failed appeal against a misconduct conviction.Dr Ang contributes over half of the revenue of the firm. He had originally appealed against his S$25,000 fine by the Singapore Medical Council.TalkMed requested for a trading halt on Wednesday morning. Its shares last traded at S$0.745.

According to the company, a large number of its patients in Singapore are from other parts of South-east Asia. Imo, the revenue is quite resilient considering the extensive disruptions to cross-border travels as a result of Covid.

Yesterday dividend of 0.7cents + 0.75cents (Feb 2021), means that the dividend yield is 3.6%.

Unlike MM, TM dividend yield keep dropping and hence it's share price dropped accordingly.

Granted, there are significant key man risk here.  It's like the Elephant in the room. Dr Ang is an intelligent man and I'm wondering what is he going to do to address this risk?

From the 5 years chart, current price of 40cents means a 24% drop.
Comparing to peak of 89cents, it's a wopping 55% drop.

How far is it going to drop further?
As our famous valuebuddies said: If you like to eat hamburger, do you want the price to go up or drop?

As long as one is sure the hamburger is still of the same great quality, I would surely like the prices to go down. However if the quality of the hamburger has changed over time I may not even want to touch it even if it is available at a fraction of its original price
