Many invest for the wrong reasons...many however invest for unknown reasons?!

So, what is/are your reason for investing?
Name 3 top reasons to justify why you invest?

1) GREED?
2) TO BEAT the market!
3) Just for fun!!

Tell! Big Grin
1) Try NOT to LOSE money!
2) Do NOT SELL in BEAR, BUY-BUY-BUY! invest in managements/companies that does the same!
3) CASH in hand is KING in BEAR!
4) In BULL, SELL-SELL-SELL!

A $1 million portfolio yielding 5% dividend gives rise to tax-free income of over $4k a month.

I want something like this lifestyle and including the nice boat Tongue

boat is a Lagoon 380 cat not cheap, can cost up to US$500k, berthing annual upkeep will set back even more. What is the final figure 2-3mil ? Investing to reach this will take a long long time by then I will be an old man.

If big sweep touch I will go for it cost only $3 to buy a hope Big Grin

It is not difficult to achieve 1m by 40.
Because of high inflation or fiat currency, i believe average household would have that amt in 10 yrs time..
Aim higher... 3m maybe, if u cannot achieve it at least u could have 1.5m...
Seriously i worried for those left behind, there is no way for the lower income to play catch up.
The thing about karma, It always comes around and bite you when you least expected.

actually how much for retirement depends on your lifestyle and when you retire how much monthly income you need to sustain that life style

currently I am single and I work from home, monthly expense about 1k only

so a million dollar portfolio yielding 5% would be more than enough for me

really depends on what the individual wants, if one were to travel around the world maybe he would need 3-10 mil? i really dunno too
