Can u cite any example on SGX where a bonus issue didn't result in an increase in mkt cap? I would be interested to know, 'cos I've only seen an incr so far. Thx.

NMS's Robin King already said:

If you are holding 6 lots you will get 1.5 lots as bonus shares, so total you will have 7,500 shares.
In no way would you be "disadvantaged".

There is an odd lot market for platforms such as POEMs. You can easily sell there though liquidity may be lower and you may suffer a wider bid-ask spread.
You can also choose to sell together with your main lots, so that the trades are consolidated and you only pay a combined brokerage fee on the total proceeds.

I am not certain whether this will take place - but recent companies that issued bonus shares (ARA, Haw Par) had a temporary odd lot trading counter to enable people to sell / buy odd lots for 1 month after the bonus shares are issued.
Alternatively, just increase your shareholding on the last CB date to get the whole number of bonus shares and then dispose of it when it XB the following day. Though there will be transaction cost (and potential capital gain or loss).
(Not Vested)

(Not Vested) Or you can apply for excess rights to make up 1 lot for your odd lot. i think most company issuing rights "favour" odd lot applicants to make up 1 lot. i have been successful most of the time, when i try. (i think company wants their shares to be actively traded also.) But you are responsible for your own action.

WB:-
1) Rule # 1, do not lose money.
2) Rule # 2, refer to # 1.
3) Not until you can manage your emotions, you can manage your money.
Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.
NB:-
My signature is meant for psychoing myself. No offence to anyone. i am trying not to lose money unnecessary anymore.
