1. Their selling point winner is the lucky draw, as my mum in law amazed me.
2. Their cost advantage is in the lower rental locations.

Unlisted ones usually easier to find:

1. Singapore Pools
2. Sistic (concert booking)

The same question posed 5 years ago would probably have garnered the likes of SMRT as a viable response. I doubt anyone would mention it today considering the high political cost in raising transportation fees while being forced to continually commit to more capex and improving its productivity and employee well being. Sometimes what gives a company an edge (monopoly, highly regulated industry, government ownership etc) could be its millstone in the future.

I suppose having a moat and having an incredible franchise are 2 different things? Although SMRT has a moat and precisely cos' it's a regulatory one, they don't have an incredible franchise as they can't anyhow raise price for the transport part of their biz...

can give some examples?
like great eastern?

What about Metro Holdings.
Prime properties, brand loyalty.
Would WB buy Metro holdings. Any views.

Not sure about WB himself but definitely one of the Superinvestors of Graham and Doddsville. See http://www.tweedy.com/resources/gvf2/TBC...123112.pdf

Vested.

Will the Government's cooling measures on car ownership be a negative on this counter in the mid-term?

In addition, the CEO Mr Heng has retired. The uncertainty of a new leader to perform is not in my interest.
