I was having lunch at Aston in Sembawang Shopping Centre. The total bill for three main courses come up to be only $22 only and the portion is generous. If I choose to have the same western foods in the KOPITIAM in the same centre, the bill will probably about the same with lesser quality and portion. Food Court typically sucks. Especially their coffee.. either too sweet or tasteless. No competition means lousy coffee.

i think for good quality value food, i still stick to hawker centre..
1) Try NOT to LOSE money!
2) Do NOT SELL in BEAR, BUY-BUY-BUY! invest in managements/companies that does the same! 3) CASH in hand is KING in BEAR! 4) In BULL, SELL-SELL-SELL!

However I also don't mind settling for a $3 Katong Laksa as well
reminds me of the $30 plate of fried rice by CFJ.
i should think that the $17 laksa has generated good returns for the stall by now thanks to all the news and curiosity its generated! just hypothetically, is this a good "stock" to buy? 1st mover advantage, high profit margin, entrepreneurial management

My wife usually has the laksa over at Wang's Cafe. I think it's about $4.00++ and the ambience is quite pleasant with nice seats and air-conditioning.
For myself, I don't like laksa; but I will eat the Mee Siam set meal which is about $5.00+. If you add that together it's still below $10. I definitely won't pay $17 for a bowl of laksa! Ridiculous prices....
