Actually, I follow a very simple plan of buy low, sell high. Normally, after buying or selling I will just go abt my normal life & just monitor the company's fundamentals.
This is one thing that u shld realize after many yrs of stock investing.
Btw, I had been investing since 16 yrs old.

how did u amass such a wealth at 36yo? what kind of job will u be looking for?

Hi,
Actually it is quite simple. My previous IT job was paying me abt $100k pa, but it demands alot of my time & energy to an extend where I hv no time to spent $. I end up saving abt 80% of my income. I was also fortunate to catch a few multi-bagger & avoid all the major corrections.

Think most probably I will go back to IT line as I kinda miss the challengers, but I must say that it really does not pay well considering the time & effort I had to put in.
In fact, I find investing much easier, haha
thks for the reply. may i ask how did u manage to avoid all the major corrections?

If you really started investing from 16 yo till now 36 yo, it means you have been investing for about 20 years. That means you had gone thru Sept 11, AFC, SARs, and GFC. 4 Biggy Bears and you said you managed to "escape" from all the 4 BIGGY BEARS? I also have been investing for 23+ starting from 40 yo to now 65 yo. , so i know your story can tell it to the marines. No jokes? TongueBig Grin

A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

I'd really love to learn how to do that! Similar to 'Temperament', I have gone thro' quite a few BEARS, starting from the 1st one when Iraq invaded Kuwait - OMG! we thought it's going to be the start of a huge Mid-East war... looks like beginning of Armageddon... Fortunately, having just started out 'Investing' in stocks for only a couple of years, my entire fortune was relatively very tiny.

Each time a Bear comes along, I get trampled and my Net Worth takes a huge battering. I fight back, collect many battle scars plus a few trophies (bears' paws).. and so far, had been lucky to be able to come out richer in both experience and $$. Sad to say, till today, after all these years, it looks like I'll never be able to spot a Bear coming. Like now, it looks like a Bull but I won't be very surprised if it's a Bear in disguise!

I guess I'll just have to continue to focus on studying company fundamentals, buy and sell based on my crystal ball valuation approach,...

PS. Do let us know in advance when the next Bear is coming, ok? Thx!

Alamak, give the guy a break lah.

He earns about 100k pa. He does not spend and ends up saving 80% of his income. Given his age one can could not be far wrong to estimate his savings could be substantial....say half a million.

His multi-baggers could come in the form of APB or Vicom and still holding on to them.

As recent as 2009 one could buy APB for $12 or about $6-7 around the time the former finance manager was caught with his hand in the till. Vicom was sub dollar for quite a while.

Perhaps he got that juicy one (Ezycall) which longtime Boustead shareholders should know. Or perhaps Portek which languished around 40-50 cents for a longtime and later below 20 cents.

With multi-baggers like these he should be able to weather the bear raids and come out with perhaps minor bruises. Definitely no problem in doubling his money.

Perhaps he has the nose to sniff out multi-baggers. Just look up the thread: Yoma

No doubt about that as many here are survivors with numerous battle scars of bear bites, scratches and even mauling... Big Grin
What I'm most impressed is the ability to AVOID all the major corrections! That's why I wish to learn more mah... and if possible to just give us the tiniest alert of the next one.. OK? asking too much?? Or my understanding of AVOID is wrong?? Confused

Why not? I can avoid all corrections by not investing at all.haha
Anyway, this kind of divine technique is beyond me. So, I just have to suck thumb and ride the waves up and down.
