Firstly I thank you all for doing your research on my company and no doubt we have exchanged emails over the past month or so. What is it you actually need to know about the product? I am more than willing to answer any of your questions.

it was said that there's full insurance premium included, i supposed this only applies in cases where the cattles die before the sale? If that the case, does that means that the sum is fully insured regardless of the situation like earthquake, mad cow disease or unnatural death?

another question will be is it right to say that the final return will be decided by the market price of the livestock for sale when they mature? if that's the case, won't the return be affected if there's oversupply of cattle within the nation itself or even competively-price import coming from other nations?

are the cattles produced in columbia meant for self-sufficiency or is a significant percentage being exported to other nations? If the trade is so lucrative, will there be significant new supply coming up locally to meet the demand?

why not raise fund within columbia since it is in Peso and both parties are not subjected to forex risk?

Cyclone; we work with Ernst & Young as our annual auditors, they conclude checks of our accounts and client documents to ensure we do not just circulate the same herd of cattle amongst our prospective clients. I am sure this has been the subject of many a conversation.

Shanrui; the insurance is in place and covers all natural disease and ill health. If the Meat is inedible for human consumption by a third party Vet, the client will receive a direct insurance payout from the insurance company Aon Group for the full initial market value. If need be i can forward you a copy of the insurance T's & C's. (send me your Email)
Like most foreign imports, Livestock is expensive to import in to Colombia due to it's high importation Taxes, this a major contributing factor in keeping the demand high with in Colombia. No doubt you will have seen the media reports surrounding the topic.

All of our Livestock are purchased and sold internally in Colombia, this does not expose us to any of the aforementioned exportation taxes. We purchase young, rear on the ranches for 18+ months and then sell out at optimum level (2yrs), this we have found to be the most productive cycle.

Where is the forex risk? Not to say there is no risk, however we are offering the product in SGD which I am sure you will all agree is suitably stable in to Peso which is now forging an equally stable foundation in Colombia. Make no bones about this, there is risk attached to every investment; from Forex to stockmarket. There is risk attached to our product, however we have worked hard as a team to minimize these risks and market the product.

For future reference: Colombia is double 'O' not 'U', this the state in the US.

are there any instances where the insurer will be able to escape paying the payout? Does the payout covers the cost of the cattle only or does it covers the final sale price of the cattle?

Is there any contigency plan should some disease outbreak occurs and the demand for meat drops rapidly? During the 2008 GFC, it was also noticed that weak economy will weaken the demand for meat and push down the prices as seen in the USA.

"Cattle raising is the most widespread agricultural activity in Colombia, accounting for 74 percent of Colombia's agricultural land in 2005". What is preventing the locals in Colombia from joining in the fun since all it takes is 2 years for a healthy return on investment?

Good to learn that there's actually importation taxes which I will not have thought of. Will you like to share about the cost involved in rearing cattle? For e.g. what is the % of total cost coming from grain and feed? Is there any other major cost involved? Thank You

Not siding with anyone but could he be just the middleman for this investment thus, he is renting a house rather than an office in downtown?

Still, this is all very strange to me and very reminiscent of our past "alternative investments" that didn't turned out well.

@YeoKiwi; in response to your posting, it maybe my fault but how does the information you have very kindly added to the thread have any connection to our discussion.

shanrui_91, cyclone; purely for personal clarification and as you have posted very valid points, can I ask you your reasoning behind your questions? Are you simply trying to educate yourself on Livestock investment (which I have no problem with) or are you genuine investor? As much as I do not have a problem answering any of your questions, from a business point of view, if it does not add value to my day then my time is better spent with prospective clients. I am sure you understand as seniors members of the industry.
