Thanks amperex,

Brilliant guide on the right way to be a better investor. If one feels that his/ her way of investing is unsustainable, it is likely that he/ she has been using the wrong methods or looking at the wrong places.

Hendrik Bessembinder, a finance professor at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University had conducted a study and found that the entirety of the $75.7 trillion in net global stock market wealth created over the past 30 years was generated solely by the top-performing 2.4% of stocks.

This demonstrates that with the right focus, one could identify the characteristics of these top-performing stocks.

hi ZZF,
This is a pretty random question. But yes, I have been waiting for it for some time.

Me too, will be a pity if the fund is closed down.
I noticed their results have underperformed the benchmarks in the past years.
Pivoting to higher growth HK listed companies have not been timely as well.

I like the newsletters very much, either public letters or client letters. A must read for me.

Good morning and wishing everyone a safe and prosperous CNY!

I too is a vivid reader of lighthouse advisors newsletter.

What I did was:
1. I set up a visual ping of the website. Everyday, when there is a change in the website (aka newsletter added), I will get a notification.
QED.

2. I create a excel and update it diligently when the newsletter is out.  Each row contain a company brought, sold or commented in the newsletter. Each column would be for the Qtr/FY of the newsletter. Their intersection will contains the stock movement info, and all comments would be captured in the remarks for that cell.

3. Once in a while, I would open up my excel and do a simple exercise to identify some interesting stocks that I would buy.  What I did was just an quick estimation of the "correct" brought/sold price range, these prices would form a gauge for my own buying/selling.

4. Once, in a while, I would also open up my excel and do a reflection of how the stocks turn from favorite (strong justification to vest) and finally sold.  I always think that one could gain experiences (partial thou) by studying others works and the information (buy-sell decision) captured in the newsletter is transparent and happen (all most) real-time to me, is an exceptionally knowledge that I could gain - nowhere else.

I always says that I'm in debt to the kind sharing of valuebuddies and this would be an excellent example why I felt so.

Gratitude!

Is it only me or the portfolio turnover was getting higher & higher?
Their (under)perfomance in recent years have been an enigma to me (and unfortunately a good case study).
I guess it is perhaps due to some bad luck + some (weird) pivots?

hi fallscushion,

I think it appears higher because the portfolio manager has been making a transition from 1 theme to another. The years of 2019-2020 has been this transition.
