Alot of the posts are like saying the sun is bright and you may go under the sun for sun tan.

IMHO, empty stuffs being said authoritativey and enigmatically don’t make them more meaningful or valuable.

If all these don’t remind me of gentle silent marketing of the counters I wouldnt have cared to post a comment.

The world's 5 fastest growing cities for tourism are all in China.

Shanghai has the largest tourism and travel GDP contribution in
the World, at $30.2 billion. It also accounts for 11 percent of China's total
travel and tourism GDP contribution.

"The dominance of the Chinese market is clear — both in terms of future
growth and overall size and as a main source market for destinations in
the wider Asia Pacific region," the report said.
The report also found other pockets of growth in Asia, such as
Singapore .
Singapore's travel and tourism doubled over the past 10 years to a total
of $12.4 billion in 2016, the report said, noting that the industry supports
164,000 jobs in the island nation.

Vb.com probably could do more with both behaviors mentioned above and they are really appreciated.

[ET Net News Agency, 16 January 2018] China Eastern Airlines (00670) said it carried a
total of about 9.21 million in December, an increase of 11.1% from a year earlier.
For the year 2017, the total number of passengers carried rose 8.9% year-on-year to
about 111 million.

[ET Net News Agency, 16 January 2018] China Southern Airlines (01055) said it carried
about 10.77 million passengers in December, an increase of 1.2% month-on-month and 13.82%
year-on-year.
For the year 2017, the total number of passengers carried grew 10.19% year-on-year to
about 126 million.

Air China (00753) passengers carried up 5.1% in 2017

[ET Net News Agency, 16 January 2018] Air China (00753) said it carried about 8.55
million passengers in December, an increase of 8% year-on-year but a decrease of 1.4%
month-on-month.

For the year 2017, the total number of passengers carried grew 5.1% year-on-year to
about 102 million.

Note for 3 big CHINA airlines only = 111 million+126M + 102M = 339 million.
Approximate 85% domestic = 288 miliion (Shanghai is the top destination)
Just think of the rest of the airlines both domestic & international; SIA, combine with High speed rail, cruise ships, buses, cars etc.

Straco has delivered a respectable full year results of EPS 5.55 cents and dividends of 2.5 cents. With a strong cashflow generation of about 7 cents per financial year, this is quite a decent company to invest in at it's current share price of 83 cents.

However with the Singapore Flyer still suspended till now, I believe this year's results will be affected by about a 1mil decline; however dividends are unlikely to be affected because of a large cash buffer and cash generation from other attractions.

Just wonder what would be the negative impact on the financials , due to the failure of the Singapore Flyer ?
