Unfortunately, i dont see the excitement for this counter. They have sold of the crown jewels. The business remaining is loss making.
Now that all the news are out, existing shareholders will do well to sell into strength and not wait for the dividend.

If i am a betting man, i would place my bet on Broadway Industrial Group share price having the same fate as Neratel moving forward.
There are no good stocks. Stocks are only good when they go up after you bought them.

It says Interim Dividend?!?!?  Huh

Maybe another mistake like the Q3 results.

Bro

The main difference between interim and final dividend is that interim dividend does not need shareholders to approve.... Some companies used this "trick" all the time....

Hi HitandRun

When I saw the FY report yday, I had the same question.. why was it an interim dividend? What was the difference between "interim" and "final"?

Thanks for sharing, I really learn something.

Cheers.

Thanks bro! I knew this "trick".

You think they purposely made this interim to expedite the payment and not because it's an "honest mistake"? How come no dates yet?  Huh

Although it's not impossible that a mistake was made, I think the more likely explanation is that directors didn't want to wait. Maybe Chairman Lew also likes his moola fast?  Tongue

Neratel nav 18.31c. Last done 40c.

Broadway nav 33.46c. Last done 21.5c.

Please enlighten me, as to how you came to that conclusion? Thank you.

Similarities between neratal and broadway:
- both sold off their crown jewels
- both paying bumper dividend. Neretal has paid out earlier.
- the remaining business is not compelling in terms of profit generation. For the case of broadway, its even worse as the remaining business is loss making.

Why would the investors want to hang around for the dividend now that all the good news are out?

Take a look at the stock price chart of neratel in the past 4 months and you may have a clue.
I am merely stating my opinion that its possible for broadway to follow suit.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion too.
Broadway has been trading below its NAV for an extended period of time. Would be keen to hear from you why is this so and the reasons it should be trading closer to NAV.

Good Sunday Morning Everyone.

All the good news are out?

If both companies call for LIQUIDATION now and return all the cash back to shareholders, what will happen to Both?

broadway's existing business has a total debt of close to 100m.
it loss 42m last year and another 100+m the year before.

with the cash of 145m in this book, it has declared 40m (or 8.5c dividend).
so if they were to liqudiate the company now, mostly likely you will get back ... very little.

Broadway Industrial prompts SGX query as shares surge 48%

SINGAPORE (Dec 17): Broadway Industrial Group, the manufacturer of actuator arms for hard disk drives, has been issued with a query from the Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo) after its share price surged 48.4% on Tuesday.

This marks the company’s second query from the market regulator over the span of six months.

Broadway Industrial has also been on the SGX watchlist since june 6 for failing to meet the minimum trading price criterion.

Some 60 million shares had changed hands during market hours, making it the most heavily traded counter on the bourse for the day. This was a significant increase from the 2.3 million shares that were traded on Monday.

Shares in Broadway had opened at 6.4 cents on Tuesday, rising to 7.3 cents at about 4.25pm. Shares then surged by a further 30% to close at 9.5 cents.

At 4.55pm, the regulator asked Broadway to declare if it was aware of any information not previously announced that might explain the “unusual price movements” in the shares.
