This plot of land is right beside High Park Residences, which Chip Eng Seng got for only $438/448 psf. Two years later, Sing holdings/ Wee Hur pays $517 psf for a plot half the size (larger plots like the CES one which is double in size has cheaper construction/marketing cost with scale).

As much as i dislike this management, i know this jalan kayu area quite well, have been going there for bakut teh and roti prata since young.. This plot of land has very good views and if i am not wrong, sits on high ground. Except for the side facing high park residences, the remaining 3 sides are actually unblocked. Not a bad place to stay in my opinion. Quite accessible now because of the LRT, drive there also very convenient, because just beside CTE.
But because i dislike the management of SH and WH, i am hoping that they dont win the tender. I would rather have the china company that is 2nd in place for the tender win it.

At $517 psf, it is a relatively high bid for a non-mrt and far location. I guess they will build MM sized units.

IMO, the margins for this contract is going to be very thin. One thing about Wee hur and Sing holdings is that both have very little development projects left. With much cash, it seems mgmt is trying to justify their continued operations.
Seen in this light, it seems delisting of Sing Holdings is becoming less likely.

I doubt the boss will delist the company because the pool of funds available to him will be smaller and land plots in Singapore are getting more expensive.
Joint venture with Wee Hur probably is to bring down construction cost as in Waterwoods Price of units sold in High Park Residences for Jul 2016 range from $872psf to $1148psf. For Aug 2016 $985psf to $1152psf and Sept 2016 $999psf to $1047psf.
