Something fishy at the Straco counter this morning. Before the opening, there was a buy of 1 lot at 80 cents and a sell of 90 lots at that price. Now after opening, only 1 lot sold, with 0.7 lots on buy at 77 cents and 89 lots to sell at 80 cents. Looks rather funny, right? Looks like someone is trying to lift the transaction price.

With a conspiracy theory in mind, you will see more fishy around.
The pre-opening and pre-close periods are dynamic. I have no idea the exact happenings, but similar observations are common during the periods.

My apologies, I will avoid making such unsubstantiated claims in future; I was more curious than aggrieved.

No problem. I will said it is a misinterpretation, rather than unsubstantiated claim. I did the same before, and be clarified by other buddies here.

A very strong rally leading to a share price appreciation of 9.5% to close at a record high of 92.0 cents. The market capitalization stands at approximately $0.78 billion. The catalyst for the recent rally seems to be the CIMB report which alludes to continued profitability of the Flyer and potential for an increase in ticket rates for the aquariums in China. We will know more about the Flyer's profitability in the 1Q report - too risky to simply extrapolate the December data since it is traditionally a peak tourism period.

I have sold out at 88cts today. At a PE of well over 20, I thought there is hardly any margin of safety.

Shanghai Ocean Aquarium has increased its ticket prices substantially. From 1 Nov 2015, adult ticket price will increase from RMB 160 to RMB 190. This could lead to further growth in revenue assuming visitor numbers do not decline. This could be the reason behind the recent rally.

Ticket prices for UWX has also been raised from 1 Nov 2015 onwards -

what's the new rules in the past year?
I just read the chairman's letter from the latest annual report.
Apparently some new rulings come into play, but i couldn't find anything bout it.
here's the excerpt from the chairman letter:
"This past year, we continued to feel the after effects of regulatory reform in China.
The China Tourism Law introduced in the preceding year has led to a relative decline
in group travel for domestic tourists, but supports the general trend towards free
individual travelers, which bodes well for our visitor yields."
anyone noes?
